Pamela Van Dort is the Director of Grant Oversight Strategy in the Office of the Chief Strategy Officer at HUD OIG. In this role, she works closely with Audits, Investigations, and Evaluations as well as other stakeholders to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of HUD OIG’s grant oversight work. She collaborates with HUD OIG leadership and staff on a broad range of issues that impact HUD OIG’s grant oversight work, including planning and strategy, outreach, and training. She regularly presents to the federal grantee community, government agencies, and other stakeholders on best practices, red flags, and proactive investigations.
Prior to joining HUD OIG, Pamela served as a Senior Investigative Attorney at the National Science Foundation Office of Inspector General where she worked collaboratively with special agents, prosecutors, investigative scientists, and forensic auditors to investigate allegations of civil, criminal and administrative fraud, waste, and abuse related to NSF and other federal grant programs. Pamela has also spent time in private practice focused on complex business litigation. She received her Juris Doctor degree from The George Washington University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hope College in Michigan. She is a Certified Fraud Examiner.
